Leaving Madison

We spent Memorial Day Weekend in Madison, tying up loose ends and doing a little prep work for The Packers that will be coming next week. The weather was beautiful and we had a great time visiting with friends. It's hard to think that we don't live there anymore.

Here's some of my favorite shots from the weekend. In the beginning it took a little time to get used to the design of the houses there as well as the overwhelming use of oak. With time we grew to love our house and put a lot of work into it. We were spoiled with how great the neighborhood was, which has made house hunting here tough. The harsh winter was tough on our plants, we were anxious to see what survived. The phlox and astilbe made it, even our lilac tree, which I just realized that I didn't post a picture of. The lilac tree had already bloomed when we planted it last season, seeing it in full bloom was a nice surprise. Will have to plant another one when we find a new house. The last picture is of Vance next to the tree that we spent so much time playing under. In the background you can see some of the walking trails around the neighborhood. We walked these trails almost everyday, finding pine cones, seeing the baby ducks, and trying to catch grass hoppers.

Running out of time now. Next post won't be so depressing. I'm thinking it will be about the 240 ways one can use a baby wipe. That's my world right now.

(Kate!!! So glad to hear from you! What would we do without Google!)

Miss May

Here's our best attempts at pictures yesterday. She's still too floppy and unpredictable for me to really get a good shot. We're doing the real picture thing this weekend. Surely better shots will be captured!

We're heading up north for the weekend. Our final family trip up to the house to take care of some last things, see friends one last time, and to bring home more summer clothes. The Movers will be coming to pack us in a couple of weeks and it looks like our stuff will be going to storage since we haven't found a house here yet.

We're hoping this trip will do some good for Vance. Well, either it will be good or even confuse him more. He's been homesick, asking to go back home, to sleep in his Big Boy Bed, and for certain toys that we left back. All the adjustments we've been making have been tough on him and in return he's being tough on us. He's been acting out in ways that are unlike him, which have been making the days last twice as long. Hopefully this is just one big, ugly phase. We're missing our sweet, little boy.

The Most Beautiful Posts I've Ever Seen

Yes, totally slacking on posting pictures of the baby. Thought I downloaded them yesterday, but did not, so here's a picture of The Posts.

The Posts have been waiting to be completed for the past 12 years. They were supposed to be part of a privacy screen in my parents backyard. No longer rectangles! We've got angles now!

Since the erection of the posts, a laundry list of projects have been started around their house, the most recent being the ripping out of the fireplace in the family room. Now a festive blanket of some sort is covering the hole where the new fireplace is waiting to be installed. The finalization of all these (to numerous to be named) forgotten projects have been set aside for the sole reason of, "Gotta finish The Posts first." The Posts are done and we're just waiting on the wooden screens to come in that will finish the "privacy" aspect of the screen.

I know this is no way to end, but I've run out of time. Maybe tomorrow I'll explain why there is a strip of carpet tacking on the horizontal part of The Posts. Any guesses?

Will try to get the baby pictures downloaded today!

Using Google Reader has allowed me to be a lazy blog reader. I haven't commented on any blogs in a long time. Apologies.

I found out yesterday that I only packed one non-maternity shirt for our move down here. All my summer clothes are still in Wisconsin. Must run to Target today to pick up a few more shirts. Are planning a trip back up to the house possibly this weekend. I know this news is very exciting.

I did take some pictures of the kiddos on Saturday. Will try to post those today.

Baby time.

Blink. Blink.

No time for clever intros and such fluff. Baby is due to eat again shortly.

She's been off the Biliblanket since Sunday and is doing well. One of her tear ducts is clogged, but is handling the torment of Ointment in the Eye 4 Times a Day like a man. She's on somewhat of a schedule already, which is nice, and is sleeping in 4 hour stretches during the night. She has peed and pooped on me more times than Vance ever did.

I'm horrible because I have not taken one picture of her since we've brought her home from the hospital. Must get on top of that.

Our lives are crazy right now. Everything is about Baby and Vance. I haven't talked to Justin in 2 weeks. I haven't replied to any emails or returned phone calls. I haven't planned anything for Vance's birthday which is quickly approaching. I don't even have baby announcements ordered. I'm looking forward for life getting back to normal. I'm looking forward to doing my own laundry, chasing Vance up the stairs and driving. Ah, to drive again! Soon!

To add to the craziness, can you believe this picture? My sister! Standing two people away from Dooce! In Dooce's kitchen! And she got to meet Jon and the dogs! I still can't believe it!

Our house sold yesterday.

This makes me a little uncomfortable for the sole reason that we have not begun to look for a new house. The To Do is in need of reorganization right now. "Look for new house" just got bumped a few lines toward the top.

Interesting story about the Buyers of the house. Instead of seeing a For Sale sign in the yard, I'm assuming they thought the sign stated that there was a YARD SALE! going on. They wanted items from our house for free or for a discounted rate. Funny, the house almost didn't sell because I wouldn't let go of my drapes that were clearly noted as not being part of the sale of the house. Some people, I tell you...

No time right now for posting a picture or to tell too many details, but hopefully this weekend. To see a picture and stats, click here

Vaughn Madison entered this world last Saturday at 7:46 PM via C-Section. She has jaundice, so we've been doing the Biliblanket dance since Wednesday. Her levels dropped today (a good thing), so she's on her way. Vance is an excellent big brother and we're all trying to get acquainted.

Have a good weekend.

Oh Baby

Bags aren't completely packed.

Still not sure on a name.
We couldn't be more ready for a life-changing event.

As we were tucking Vance in for the night, Justin and I were trying to have a moment with Vance, explaining that Baby Girl was coming and how much we love him. Vance looked at Justin and told him, "Enough talking, Daddy" then proceeded to roll over to go to sleep.

So, I'll take Vance's advice. Enough talking.

Time to get last-minute things ready and go to bed. We're having a baby tomorrow.

Still no baby.

Once again, apologies for the lack of content around here. There's really nothing going on, besides waiting on Baby Girl to make her entrance. The room is done, no new projects are being started, we've just been hanging out.

The most exciting thing that has happened today was that Vance dripped jelly out of his sandwich and onto his shirt. It looked exactly like a heart with an arrow through it. I meant to take a picture of it, but I forgot to before I threw it in the laundry. Maybe tomorrow it'll be mustard in the shape of Jesus, or better yet, Elvis.

I've felt weird today. Hoping Baby decides to come before Saturday. Will keep everyone posted if anything happens during the night.

Nighty, night.
