We spent Memorial Day Weekend in Madison, tying up loose ends and doing a little prep work for The Packers that will be coming next week. The weather was beautiful and we had a great time visiting with friends. It's hard to think that we don't live there anymore.
Here's some of my favorite shots from the weekend. In the beginning it took a little time to get used to the design of the houses there as well as the overwhelming use of oak. With time we grew to love our house and put a lot of work into it. We were spoiled with how great the neighborhood was, which has made house hunting here tough. The harsh winter was tough on our plants, we were anxious to see what survived. The phlox and astilbe made it, even our lilac tree, which I just realized that I didn't post a picture of. The lilac tree had already bloomed when we planted it last season, seeing it in full bloom was a nice surprise. Will have to plant another one when we find a new house. The last picture is of Vance next to the tree that we spent so much time playing under. In the background you can see some of the walking trails around the neighborhood. We walked these trails almost everyday, finding pine cones, seeing the baby ducks, and trying to catch grass hoppers.
Running out of time now. Next post won't be so depressing. I'm thinking it will be about the 240 ways one can use a baby wipe. That's my world right now.
(Kate!!! So glad to hear from you! What would we do without Google!)
