"No sense in waiting and seeing what doesn't fit"

3 cm dilated, 80% effaced. I also gained 2 lbs since last week. I'll be induced on Saturday morning, if Baby Girl doesn't come on her own before then.

My doctor believes I'll have a better chance at a VBAC by going a little early. If I were to opt to have another c-section it would be scheduled a week before my due date anyways. We first decided on being induced on Friday, but there were no open time slots at the hospital. So, Saturday it is. We have an AM time slot, which means we'll be called to show up anywhere between 4:30 AM and noon.

In Vance related news, he short circuited today and acted in a manner like we have never seen. He was up at 6:00 am, had an exciting day with Grandma and Granddad Tractor, and no nap. Words were spewing from his mouth like I've never heard before. It sounded as if he was in need of an exorcism. He was clenching his little fists and teeth, his face bright red. I threw him in the bath after the second meltdown, hosed him down, and put him to bed. Might have been the fastest bath he's ever had. Hopefully he sleeps in later tomorrow and is back to his normal cute self.

Vance is predicting that Baby Girl will be here on Thursday. Fine by me. It has to be soon because my clothes aren't fitting like they should be and no one wants to see Big Pregnant Belly sticking out of the bottom of my shirt. Also, the past 2 weeks of growth have been a Stretch Mark Nightmare. A new line seems to appear everyday and, well, stretch marks aren't exactly what you want a lot of.

Now that I'm thinking about it, I believe my mom and the Amish are to blame for the past 2 weeks of growth. My mom brought home more Nutella and we've been introduced to Amish Friendship Bread. 3 loaves have come and gone and I think I have eaten the most. And everyone thinks the Amish are so innocent...

Doctors appointment this afternoon.

I'm Still Pregnant - 38 Weeks

The swelling of my feet and hands have started. No more wedding rings for me. I always thought I would buy a fake ring to wear when mine didn't fit anymore, but with less than 2 weeks to go, it seems silly to spend the money. Good thing the young, unwed mother look is in now...

We had a nice weekend. The weather was beautiful on Saturday and we took advantage of it. Justin and Vance went for a bike ride in the morning and we all took a walk afterwards and met Leanne and Miss Lily at the halfway point between our houses on the trail. Lunch at Applebee's to finally use a gift card that was almost 3 years old and Vance took a great nap. It was a very last minute decision, but Vance spent the night at Grandma and Granddad Tractors house and we at dinner Adult Style with my parents. The last time we went out without Vance was almost 10 months ago. We were past due.

Ran out of time - More later...Maybe.

Just a note to let it be known that I tried to post this morning. I had a story in mind, but Vance has a new habit of waking up at the crack of dawn. It's hard to formulate coherent sentences with all the questions being asked around here. Yes, he's still doing that. All day long. It's easy to be annoyed by the constant question asking and many times throughout the day I feel like an ass because I've gotten snippy with an almost 3 year old who just wants to tell me things like, "Dogs have whiskers".

I'll try again during naptime, if there is a naptime today.

I'm Still Pregnant

Dilated to a 2 and effaced 70%. Good progress says the Doc. Another appointment next Tuesday and we'll see where we are then. As much as I'm ready to have this baby, I'd rather her birthday be in May, so must hold off until then.

Weekend Update!

Despite being a crappy day weather wise, Saturday we got a lot done. Justin and Vance went in one direction to pick up Justin's new pants and my mom and I went in another direction to do errands and finish up baby related odds and ends. Here's some of what we got:

  • Baby book
  • Vance's Big Brother gift
  • A few birthday gifts for friends
  • Bibs, burp cloths, etc.
  • Uber girlie music crib thing
  • Coming Home outfit (harder to find than one would think)
We did a lot on Sunday too. Vance and Justin took a bike ride in the morning, I ran to Target, we met back up and took Daisy on a walk, ate lunch, went to look at developments in St. Louis, ran to the grocery store, then BBQ'd for dinner.

The first development looked like it was going to be nice and had a beautiful model home. However, I think it was a little too far west for us. The second development had a great ranch model home, but we weren't too impressed with the 'hood. The model had an overwhelming display of fake food everywhere. Even in the bedrooms. Vance has never seen fake food and it totally confused him.

I have another doctor's appointment tomorrow afternoon in which I'm hoping he says, "No need to go home, just walk on over to the hospital and we'll induce you right now!" We still are working on a name, but other than that I think we're pretty much ready.

Vance got new toothpaste over the weekend and he's dying to go use it. Must go supervise. Happy Monday.

Still pregnant.

Just have been busy.
Supposed to be nice today.
Big plans to play outside with the family.

My mom and I made progress in the baby's room yesterday. Hopefully I can finish up today.

I did 5 loads of baby related laundry yesterday, so I must sort through all of that and get it put away. Wouldn't it be funny if the ultrasound lady made a mistake and I'm really having a boy? Poor kid would sure look funny in the adorable pink romper and pink dress I just bought.

Vance didn't get left out. I found this for him. I love the embroidery on the back.

This post is going nowhere and I must make breakfast for Vance now.

Later gators.

My Jerry Maguire Moment

Because you deserve all the details, I'm dilated to 1 cm. and am 60% effaced. My doctor thinks Miss Barcelona will be here before her due date. Actually, the first thing he said was, "You could have this baby next week".

Okay. This changes things a little bit.

Breakdown?

No.

Breakthrough.

Lots to do. Lots to do. Need to make one big list. Number one on the list? A name.

My horoscope promised 5 stars today and I think I'm going to need everyone one of them.

Updated: I didn't bring any of my baby books home - what do I need to have packed for the hospital?

Today is the Realtor Open House at our house. It's exciting because hopefully this will bring more interested people through the house, obviously.

But it's absolutely killing me knowing that a ton of people will be going through my house! Unknown people touching things and wearing their germy shoes throughout. It's grossing me out.

Today is also my first doctors appointment since we've been back in town. I'm anxious to see how it goes. Will update if there's any news to share.

This blog has been boring lately. Apologies.

Weekend Update!

Not too much happened over the weekend. Every weekend update starts that way. Maybe ending the sentence with an exclamation point would help them sound not so boring. Let's try again.

Not too much happened over the weekend! (Better)

  • My mom brought home a new container of Nutella, which was totally not necessary. I've been dipping into it all weekend. Love it.
  • We went shopping on Sunday. Bought Rosie B. a pink chamois changing pad cover from PB. So soft.
  • Justin needed new work pants, which was reason for the shopping trip in the first place. Side story: We've been shopping at this store for a long time and every time we go we somehow wind up with the same saleslady. She was on top of her game yesterday. Complimented my mom on her hair, directed me to the comfy chair, offered drinks while waiting. They always give out little bottles of water but today she had beer to offer, but no bottle opener. A cruel move for this crowd. Alcohol would have made pant shopping a little less painful. Her tactics worked. He found 4 pairs and a shirt. He also scored the sales lady's cell phone number while my mom and I left to grab a table for lunch. You know, for those emergency situations where one would NEED A PAIR OF PANTS RIGHT NOW! DO YOU HAVE MY SIZE? I NEED TO KNOW!
  • Justin and Vance put together the rocking chair for Rosie's room. It's no good. Not comfy at all. Doesn't even rock. I've been wronged by IKEA. Will send it back.
  • Did some other work in the baby's room. Will continue today and post some pictures when it's done.
  • Had the first Open House yesterday. Have not heard from our Realtor, so I'm guessing no sale yet.
  • Am anxious to get more items up at Etsy to sell. The blank space on the sidebar is driving me nuts.
Breakfast time. Have a great morning.

Vance's Newest Obsession

Vance woke up twice last night. It was around 3:45 AM that I caught him at the top of the stairs, putting his Bruno's on. We'll see how tonight goes.

We're Here

Since the last update, we have packed 3 car loads of "necessities" and relocated. We arrived here safely on Wednesday afternoon and still feels like we're just here for a visit. Vance is thoroughly confused and has asked a few times to go back to his house. We've been trying to get settled for the past couple of days and hopefully by the weekend we'll be done.

Upon leaving town, we canceled our Charter account and in return they decided to start being efficient and closed down our email addresses. Good thing I printed out a copy of my Address Book before we left.  (I'll be sending out a new email address shortly.) An Atta Boy! goes to my dad who initiated Project Get Internet at their house, just for us. I won't go into details, but his initial phone call to the provider lasted for almost two hours and included two hang-ups: once he hung up on them and once they hung up on him. He was successful as our internet was just hooked up about an hour ago.

No big plans for the weekend for us. I'm trying to keep things as normal as possible for Vance, so he makes this transition easily. I won't tell you about how he's been wearing a pair of my mom's Bruno Magli shoes around the house for the past two days. When we do go out he has no problem changing into his own shoes, but as soon as we return, he puts the bright red loafers back on. Maybe he's channeling Mr. Rogers. Maybe it's more of an OJ Simpson thing. Probably not, but at least he's showing signs of good taste in footwear.

35 Weeks

I'm totally procrastinating with the whole packing thing. Let's not think about The Move and pretend that it's not happening on Wednesday morning.

Great. Picture time.

Last time I updated with Unnecessary Pregnant Belly Shots (UPBS) we were here, 31.5 weeks.

Here we are, two days ago, at 35 weeks. Contender for our next Holiday Card? I think so.

Family trip to Justin's office on Saturday morning. Helped him move out of his cube.

Made our last trip to Chipotle.

Vance has his last Little Gym class this morning. Grandma and Granddad Tractor will be joining us. Afterwards we'll go to the cheese store and stock up.

Still haven't packed a thing.

Good day to you.

I've ordered a print for Baby Girl's room. You can see it here.

The house will be listed by this afternoon.

That's all for now.

I've been sentenced to nothing but sweatsuit-style pants this pregnancy. I'm carrying this baby differently, so differently than I carried Vance. The baby is sitting high, therefore the bottom of my stomach is a downward slope. I've also been blessed with the figure of  a 13 year old boy, so I have no hips or butt to keep my pants up. It's too late in the game to buy new pants even if I found some, so I'll keep on with the track pants and tennis shoes for these last 5 weeks.

The idea of wearing normal clothes is so exciting right now. I can't wait to zip something up. Would it be wrong to ask for gift cards from Anthropologie as baby gifts? Because, you know, for all the baby stuff that they sell?

Hot Sundae

I think it's crazy that Jesse Spano (Elizabeth Berkley) keeps popping up everywhere. Last night I saw her on an episode of CSI. It bugged me that she went one hole minute without  blinking. She's also going to be hosting the dance-reality show for the Bravo network. It hugely annoys me that on the commercials for that show her ending pose includes Pointy Fingers. (You'd have to see the commercial to appreciate how awful it is.) I don't even think Zack Morris, the manager of Hot Sundae, would let that move fly.

Feeling better today. Have a laundry list of Move related items to do today.

If you have time, send a good thought Charity's way this morning. She's taking her State Realtor test today. Good Luck!
