I've jumped on the bandwagon and bought Amy Winehouse's CD.

I often buy shredded cheese with the taco seasoning added in. Every time Justin goes to use it he tells me the cheese is bad - that there's stuff growing in it.

Spring has sprung and so has Vance's feet. Nothing like new shoes to put a spring in your step! We took him to get new kicks over the weekend and he measured a 7.5. His old shoes were a 6.5. Does this explain why Vance was always taking off his shoes? Sure does! We went ahead and took the shoe lady's advice and got him an 8. He's still getting used to driving them around. Poor kid keeps tripping over his feet. But if you ask Vance he'll tell you that they are, "Nice!" and "Blue!"

I can't stop buying him shoes! I've bought 3 pairs! Just one more pair and I'll stop! But look how cute they are!

So many plastic toys in the house and none outside? That's crazy! We needed some plastic representation out back, so we bought Vance a climbing thing.

It was harder bringing it home than assembling, so I guess that's a plus. It wouldn't fit in the back of the car with the car seat, so Justin had to make a solo-trip back to the store. Interestingly, it still wouldn't fit. Justin and the worker had to take it out of the box, then stack the pieces in the back of the car.

So far, Vance seems to love it. Here's some proof:

Shoots!

Here's my Shoots!

We bought tulip and daffodil bulbs last fall. I floundered when it came to actually planting them in the ground. So, I planted them in a big pot that I had on hand. I didn't even water them. Totally forgot. They sat in our chilly garage all winter.

Fast forward to yesterday when Vance and I were playing in the garage. I've got shoots! I had forgotten that they were even there! I'll post a picture later. (I know you all are so excited to see my tulip shoots...)

Vance has a stuffed dog. He calls it Dog. With a long O. I caught him sniffing the top of its head today. I know this probably means nothing to most of you. Let me explain.

My sister used to stick Raggedy Anne's hair up her nose when she was little. She loved that doll within an inch of its life and the mutilated remains are kept in a plastic bag at my parents house. Next came Ryan. She was given an Annie doll when she was a baby but by no means was it pushed on her. She discovered Annie on her own and at a young age. Ryan prefers to sniff the top of Annie's head, not stick it up her nose. Does this type of evolution mean that Ryan's daughter will be satisfied just holding Annie?

Ryan is generous and usually gives out sniffs of Annie. She has been letting Vance sniff Annie since he's been in the womb and he has always seen Ryan sniff Annie. Think it's nature or nurture?

Thank you, Papa John's

Well, there's going to be an addition to our household. Vance is getting his 2-year molars. I know you normally don't count teeth as members of family, but you don't know these teeth. They are demanding, cranky, and honestly wearing me out. Our perfect baby has been A Mess for the past month and each week gets a little worse. The joy was indescribable when I discovered the teeth. Finally! He's not a little asshole, he's just in pain! Break out the Tylenol! Tylenol for everyone!

Last night was Survivor Night, so we were having pizza for dinner. So, after Vance ate his peaches and peas (It was also Foods that Start with the Letter P night) I told him that Daddy was going to bring home pizza. That's when The Teeth took control of Vance's body and he began to demanded peepah. I make the call to order the pizza and an automated lady tells me that the number has been disconnected. What the eff? I hop online to see what I can figure out and our local Papa John's has been closed! We were just there last week! No one mentioned anything, no sign on the door, nothing! I'm not a fan of Pizza Hut, but there's one close and was our only other alternative. The only coupon they were offering was for Buffalo Wings and one large pizza was going to cost 18.34. That's ridiculous. So, frozen pizza and mac n' cheese for us. We haven't eaten that combo since college. I'm getting way off track now. So at this point The Teeth are pissed and want pizza and doesn't understand why Daddy is home and there's no pizza. The pizza finally came out of the oven and everyone was happy. (Needing to quickly end this post.)

Today we began our search for someone to build/install/pour a patio. We are leaning towards stamped concrete, but pavers are not totally out of the question. Ken came by today and took measurements and will be getting back to us. I'm sure he'll draw up several grand ideas, all which we will not be able to afford. Maybe we can offer up our first born. I'm willing to do whatever it takes. There WILL be a solid surface out back by May. The patio furniture that we bought last spring is still in boxes in our garage and smirks at me every time I walk past.

In other news, Vance got a haircut today and his bedtime has been moved up by 30 minutes.

Any good advice on potty training?

Nighty Night.

Ryan, Jack, and Vance attempted to catch a leprechaun this weekend. They decorated a trap to lure the little guy, set it, but Oh No! he got away! He did leave some surprises behind though...We'll have to try again next year.

Our weekend visitors left today and it's always sad to see them leave. Justin, Vance, and I were in a crappy mood after they left, so we decided to use our crappiness as inspiration. Thanks to warmer temps last week, the snow has melted and has revealed all of Daisy's poop from the past 4 months. 2 full grocery bags later and Vance has a crap-free backyard to play in. Viola! Now all I need is something to inspire me to get the trash bags of old clothes out of our bedroom and taken to Goodwill. What? What did you say? New Jeans? Well, I guess that could work!

Game On!

Thursdays are big nights for my family. For years we've been getting together on Thursdays to eat pizza and watch Survivor. We call it "Survivor Night" and it's a big deal.

Even though we've moved away we still have our own Survivor Night. Pizza = Thursdays. No questions about it.

Enter Vance's love for swim class with his DaDa. The only night class this session was offered on Thursdays. NO!!! We thought long and hard about it and opted for our child's happiness over TV. (Probably will never happen again!) So, we've had to move Pizza Night to Wednesdays and it's thrown our universe completely out of whack. Sad, isn't it? For the past 8 weeks we've been walking around on Thursdays thinking that it's Friday because of what we had for dinner the night before. And it's thrown everybody off back at home too. Phone conversations always lead to dinner plans for that night and when I say we're having pizza and it's Wednesday..."What! You're having pizza tonight? Oh that's right I forgot..."

I know what everyone is thinking. "Why not cut pizza out of the menu?" Vance loves peepah and if we don't have it he'll drive you nuts asking for it. Peepah? Peepah? Peepah?

Good news, folks! Last week was Vance's last swim class and we're back on for Survivor Night tonight! Finally back to pizza on Thursdays and I'm pretty excited about it!
